“Thought of you” Animation short by Ryan Woodward
This short film is probably one of the most stunning animated pieces ever done. The first time I saw it, my heart felt heavy in my chest, and somehow I had trouble breathing. I could not cope with the gorgeousness of it and had to sit down for a minute.
The pure, quintessential beauty of the idea combined with the treatment and the reference to dance talks to me on every level as an animator, a dance afficionado, and someone who always support poetic projects in animation - an industry quite often invaded with cartoons and gratuitous action/horror/fun/etc stuff - and it’s done by a MAN, which warms my heart even more.
I urge everyone to watch it, and rewatch it, it is quite simply, extraordinary.
Also, check out the website for the making of, and how Ryan worked with dancers for reference, and such.
I absolutely adore this video~

Wouldn’t it be fitting if this went completely around the world!
John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed.
The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her.
She was cared for in John ‘s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan.
The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.
He is a real Star of the war, and represents what the combined service is trying to do.
This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You’ll never see things like this in the news.
Please keep this going.
Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the world needs to see pictures like this and needs to realised that what we’re doing over there is making a difference.
Even if it is just one little girl at a time.God Bless you Cheif Master Sergeant Gebhardt.
